This year, 2020, marks the 75th<\/sup> anniversary of the Jameel family\u2019s tradition of supporting the community.\u00a0 The last twelve months have seen some momentous achievements and success stories for Community Jameel<\/a> \u2013 the co-founders at J-PAL<\/a> winning the Nobel Prize in Economics, the 25th<\/sup> anniversary of the Jameel-Toyota Scholarship<\/a>, the discovery of the antibiotic Halicin by the Jameel Clinic<\/a> at MIT, and the ground-breaking work of the Jameel Institute<\/a> at Imperial College London in modelling the spread of COVID-19, which helped inform and assist policymaking around the world.<\/p>\n\n

At this significant milestone, Community Jameel is embarking on a new chapter which will see several strategic changes due to be fully implemented by the end of November:<\/p>\n\n

    \n
  1. Bab Rizq Jameel and Art Jameel will become standalone units<\/strong>Having been part of Community Jameel since 2003, Bab Rizq Jameel and Art Jameel<\/a> will now become standalone units with separate management. Both organizations have grown significantly to become major forces for positive change across the region.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  2. A new focus for Community Jameel Saudi Arabia<\/strong>Through Community Jameel Saudi Arabia, which operates as a separate entity, with separate management and funding, the family is scaling up activities in Saudi Arabia, expanding on decades of support for the community, including for the unemployed, the elderly, the infirm, orphans, and prisoners, and supporting society\u2019s efforts to achieve the Vision 2030 agenda.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  3. Community Jameel: innovating for a better future<\/strong>Community Jameel will now focus on leveraging science, technology and learning to achieve breakthroughs in the fields of education, health and climate, and to deliver innovative solutions to those who need them most.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n

    These new strategic changes will enable the Jameel family to harness the late Abdul Latif Jameel\u2019s legacy and continue to deliver his vision for supporting the community in the years to come.<\/p>\n\n

    Commenting on this new chapter, Mohammed Abdul Latif Jameel <\/strong>KBE<\/strong><\/a>, the Founder and Chairman of Bab Rizq Jameel and Community Jameel, said:<\/p>\n\n
