The COVID-19 pandemic has been a stark reminder \u2013 if any were needed \u2013 of humankind\u2019s persistent failure to address one of its most enduring, and potentially destabilizing, challenges \u2013 universal access to healthcare.<\/p>\n

While we can be proud of many of the advances made by our society over the past century and more, our inability to ensure that every individual has access to good quality healthcare is an undoubted \u2018black mark\u2019 on our progress.<\/p>\n
