{"id":4662,"date":"2024-06-10T10:55:48","date_gmt":"2024-06-10T10:55:48","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/cms.alj3.clients.lemonhq.io\/press-release\/saudi-victory-led-by-yazeed-al-rajhi-in-desafio-ruta-40-rally-argentina\/"},"modified":"2025-12-09T09:07:33","modified_gmt":"2025-12-09T09:07:33","slug":"saudi-victory-led-by-yazeed-al-rajhi-in-desafio-ruta-40-rally-argentina","status":"publish","type":"pressrelease","link":"https:\/\/cms.alj3.clients.lemonhq.io\/en\/news\/saudi-victory-led-by-yazeed-al-rajhi-in-desafio-ruta-40-rally-argentina\/","title":{"rendered":"Saudi victory led by Yazeed Al-Rajhi in Desafio Ruta 40 Rally Argentina"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Congratulations to the Saudi world champion and <a href=\"https:\/\/jameelmotors.com\/en\/motorsport\/\">Jameel Motorsport<\/a> supported driver <a href=\"https:\/\/www.worldrallyraidchampionship.com\/en\/competitor\/3be1e0f0-56a4-4564-8a6f-afcd0c985039\">Yazeed Al Rajhi<\/a>, who was crowned the winner of the 2024 Desafio Ruta 40 Rally in Argentina, marking the fourth round of the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.worldrallyraidchampionship.com\/en\/\">World Rally-Raid Championship (W2RC)<\/a>.&nbsp; Driving a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.toyota.com.sa\/en\/vehicles\/commercial\/hiluxdc\">Toyota Hilux<\/a>, this victory makes him the first Saudi and third non-Argentine driver to win on Argentinian soil since 2010.<\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/media.alj3.clients.lemonhq.io\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/10\/05-Ruta40-2024-DoniCastilho-3793-1.jpg\" alt=\"An Overhead view of Toyota Hilux driving through a rough terrain.\" class=\"wp-image-117348\"\/><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Al-Rajhi and his German co-driver <a href=\"https:\/\/www.worldrallyraidchampionship.com\/en\/competitor\/e2340d42-cdf2-400d-a3da-d4dbe97ab6ab\">Timo Gottschalk<\/a>, clinched the title, finishing first by just 13 seconds. &nbsp;They recorded a total time of 17 hours, 38 minutes, and 21 seconds over six days on rough, gravel and technical track stages from June 1st to 7th.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cWinning by just seconds is an incredible feeling. It was a long and fierce battle. This victory is well-deserved for me and the team,\u201d said Al-Rajhi.\n<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p>\u201cI am delighted with this win. &nbsp;It\u2019s great to be back in Argentina. &nbsp;Last year, I finished third, and today I won the second edition of the Desafio Ruta 40 Rally. &nbsp;The competition was strong and was characterized by the difficulty of its tracks similar to the Dakar Rally. &nbsp;My co-pilot, Timo, also did a wonderful job in this rally, and I am grateful to him.\u201d he added.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<p>Al-Rajhi extended special thanks to his strategic partner, <a href=\"https:\/\/jameelmotors.com\/en\/motorsport\/\">Jameel Motorsport<\/a>, for their support and sponsorship in his global and regional rally endeavors.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Co-driver Gottschalk said: \u201cIt wasn\u2019t for the fainthearted. &nbsp;Yazeed fired another rocket in the final kilometers, overcoming every challenge. launched in 2010, after the country hosted the Dakar Rally 2009-18. &nbsp;In 2023, the Desavio Rota 40 Rally became part of the W2RC rounds of the World Rally-Ride Championship launched by the FIA in early
