Clay Tye follows the successful completion of FRV and Harmony Energy\u2019s West-Sussex based battery storage facility, <a href=\"https:\/\/media.alj.com\/en\/news\/abdul-latif-jameel-energy-supports-development-of-second-utility-scale-battery-storage-project-in-uk\/\">Contego<\/a>, which has a capacity of 34 MW \/ 68 MWh.&nbsp; It also follows the completion of FRV\u2019s Dorset-based <a href=\"https:\/\/media.alj.com\/en\/in-the-news\/frv-switches-on-15-mwh-energy-storage-system-in-uk\/\">Holes Bay<\/a> battery energy storage project, which has a capacity of 7.5 MW \/ 15 MWh.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The project reflects FRV\u2019s long-term investment plan to develop energy storage projects globally in countries like Australia, Mexico, Chile and Spain.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Clay Tye uses 52 Tesla Megapack lithium-ion batteries along with Tesla\u2019s Autobidder AI software for energy capacity exchange and efficient project management.&nbsp; Megapack batteries have a capacity of 15 MWh and are connected to the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ssen.co.uk\/Home\/\">Southern Electric Power<\/a>&nbsp;distribution network, providing the capability to store energy from renewable sources and afford peak-time flexibility to the UK&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.nationalgrideso.com\/\">National Grid<\/a>&nbsp;as part of the UK\u2019s continuing shift away from fossil fuels.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Both FRV and Harmony Energy expect the BESS plant to be finished and operational during the first quarter of 2023. &nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/media.alj.com\/en\/our-people\/fady-jameel\/\">Fady Jameel<\/a>, Deputy President and Vice Chairman, Abdul Latif Jameel, said:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p>\u201c<em>We are always looking for opportunities to spearhead the move to a more sustainable future.&nbsp;
