The Jameel Family\u2019s healthcare activities began with the founding of the non-profit Abdul Latif Jameel Rehabilitation Hospital in Jeddah in 1997.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/aljhealth.com\/\">Abdul Latif Jameel Health<\/a> (through <a href=\"https:\/\/alj-japan.co.jp\/\">Abdul Latif Jameel General Trading Co<\/a>., Japan) announced a new collaboration with <a href=\"https:\/\/www.melodyi.net\/\">Melody International<\/a> signing a memorandum of understanding (MoU) for the exclusive distribution of Melody\u2019s innovative remote \u2018Melody i Mobile Fetal Monitor iCTG\u2019, a cloud-based mobile wireless fetal monitor platform, across selected markets in Asia, the Middle East, and Africa covering a territory of over 1.9 billion people.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-video\"><video controls poster=\"https:\/\/www.alj.com\/app\/uploads\/2021\/09\/Melody-Video-Poster-Thumbnail-Image-1024x578-1.jpg\" src=\"https:\/\/www.alj.com\/app\/uploads\/2021\/09\/Abdul-Latif-Jameel-Health-Melody-Intl-announce-collaboration-EN-16x9-Comp.mp4\"><\/video><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>This new collaboration aims to address the lack of access to adequate fetal monitoring in many countries with unmet needs due to limited availability of medical facilities and maternity physicians, or those with geographically dispersed populations not easily able to visit primary health care.<\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image size-full wp-image-92765\">\n<figure class=\"alignright\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/media.alj3.clients.lemonhq.io\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/10\/image.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-92765\"\/><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\">Simple to use, light and portable International<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n\n<p>Melody &nbsp;has developed a convenient, smart and highly portatble remote mobile fetal monitoring device to assist in problematic or high risk situations, enabling safer and more secure births for mothers.&nbsp; Their integrated platform comprises a fetal heart monitor (with in-built speaker in the transducer, that also functions as a fetal doppler); a uterine contraction monitor (external tocometer); and a smart tablet device to see data in real-time and connect to the internet.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Approved by Japan\u2019s Pharmaceuticals and Medical Devices Agency of Japan (<a href=\"https:\/\/www.pmda.go.jp\/english\/\">PDMA<\/a>)<a href=\"#_ftn1\" name=\"_ftnref1\">[1]<\/a>; the Thai FDA, and currently preparing application for USA FDA approval, Melody\u2019s iCTG is already widely used across many hospitals in Japan.&nbsp; Its effectiveness has been proven in a variety of clinical cases, including as a partial alternative to periodic medical checkups for pregnant women living in remote or isolated areas and frequent and long-term monitoring of high-risk pregnancies which require regular tests such as mothers of late child bearing age and those with risks of premature labor.&nbsp; These cases can be successfully monitored by clinicians analyzing the data remotely via the internet whilst the mother wears the device at home.&nbsp; This remote screening capability enables a quick intervention if necessary, decreasing a risk for unexpected or emergency delivery as a result.<\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image size-full wp-image-92772\">\n<figure class=\"alignleft\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/media.alj3.clients.lemonhq.io\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/10\/image-1.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-92772\"\/><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\">The integrated Melody i platform is able to link data with clinicians and hospitals anytime and anywhere, including from home or situations enables real-time data to be accessed by doctors to monitor the fetus\u2019 condition during transit and for the receiving hospital to prepare a treatment plan before arrival, maximizing the likelihood of a successful outcome.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Compared to conventional fetal monitors, which can be large and expensive, the innovative Japanese technology of the Melody i Fetal Monitor iCTG is considered unique.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The system is affordable, portable, convenient and paperless, sending data to the tablet display or smart devices.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The transducer\u2019s weight is close to that of common smartphones and one hour\u2019s charge provides up to 6 hours of monitoring capability.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Commenting on the signing of the MoU, <a
