The Abdul Latif Jameel Poverty Action Lab (J-PAL)<\/a>, together with the American University in Cairo (AUC)<\/a>, Community Jameel<\/a>, and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT)<\/a>, has announced the launch of a new regional research center in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) focused on alleviating poverty and improving lives through evidence-informed policymaking.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Based at the AUC\u2019s School of Business and launched in collaboration with global philanthropy Community Jameel, J-PAL MENA becomes J-PAL\u2019s seventh regional center. Since J-PAL launched at MIT in 2003 it has founded flagship research centers in Africa, Europe, Latin America and the Caribbean, North America, South Asia, Southeast Asia.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
